Couchdesk turns your iPhone or iPad into a trackpad, a keyboard and a window onto your Mac's screen.
- Trackpad mode: glide to move the pointer, tap to click, two fingers to scroll or right-click, tap and hold to drag.
- Touch mode: tap exactly where you want to click.
- Pinch to zoom on small text; the view follows your pointer.
- A real keyboard with ⌘ ⌥ ⌃ ⇧, Esc, Tab, arrows and function keys, and shortcuts one tap away.
Remote desktop, without the setup
Most remote desktop apps want an account, a cloud service and a password. Couchdesk needs your Mac and your phone on the same Wi-Fi, and one QR code. After that, your Mac is one tap away on your phone's home screen.
Fast, and private by design
The picture is encoded by your Mac's video hardware and decoded by your phone's, and only what changes on screen is sent. Your phone and your Mac talk directly over your own network, encrypted with TLS 1.3. Nothing goes through our servers — there aren't any — and your screen is never recorded or stored.
Free, or Pro
Couchdesk is free, with ads on the home screen and after a session — never while you're using your Mac. Couchdesk Pro removes the ads and adds full-resolution picture at 60 frames per second, as many Macs as you like, and every display.
Good to know
- Your phone and your Mac must be on the same local network. Couchdesk doesn't work over the internet yet.
- No account and no sign-up, on either side.
- Couchdesk for Mac asks for two macOS permissions: Screen Recording, so your phone can see the screen, and Accessibility, so it can move the pointer and type. Setup help
